This edition features three companies who are delivering real solutions to help their customers reduce their environmental impact. The efforts of a lot of companies who position themselves as environmentally conscious often amount to little more than greenwashing. The three companies we feature here, on the other hand, work with products which make a real difference. They achieve this by offering environmentally friendly alternatives to existing solutions which users can seamlessly integrate into their everyday lives. This seems to be a great blueprint for other startups who are working on similar ideas to follow.

Solarmass Energy Group

These guys modify standard building materials to make solar power more accessible and more aesthetic. Starting with the Ergosun Integrated Solar Roof Tile, Solarmass have been able to seamlessly integrate solar power into a traditional concrete tile roof that is installed by existing trades, provides all the power of traditional solar panels, and blends invisibly into their customer’s beautiful homes.

This team is collaboratively developing a virtual intelligent consulting (VIC) platform to help small communities and First Nations to monitor and maintain their water treatment systems. Their product operates on computers and mobile devices and is designed to be as efficient and time-focused as possible, which allows users respond to issues with their water supply systems immediately.
