Interior design is usually perceived as expensive and impractical by a lot of people. With an intention of democratizing access to Interior Design, and popularizing it further, CHICanny has engineered a reliable online platform that creates a live ecosystem to provide an affordable interior design service and professionally curated décor and furniture.
CHICanny’s platform is a combination of e-service by professional interior designers, e-commerce of brand new, pre-owned, and consigned décor and furniture, and a live hub for space owners, interior designers/architects, décor retailers, and individual sellers. It is powered by real-time project monitoring tools and delivery tracking, which makes it a one-stop, all-in platform solution for online interior design for home, office, and business. The platform offers CHIC 3D realistic interior design through CANNY design execution.
Customers will choose CHICanny over competitors because the platform offers interior design styles not available in competition, like Bohemian Style, Vintage Style, Victorian Style, Industrial Style and authentic Rustic Style. These unique interior design styles require used/pre-owned/distressed décor and furniture pieces, which is available through CHICanny, but not their competitors. In addition, having the option to include pre-owned items in a project makes interior design more affordable.
The platform has unique features which makes CHICanny appealing to individual sellers of pre-owned items as well as artists, custom furniture makers, and creators of handmade goods. It has access to a more targeted buying audience who are actually looking for décor and furniture items for their own interior design projects. As a result, selling is faster and more reliable. Designers act as selling-agents via interior design projects and free consultation modules. The platform has AI-capability to intelligently suggest decor and furniture based on buyer’s style preference as interpreted by the Style Quiz module. More importantly, it is a social platform where all users can connect, communicate, and share the thrill and excitement of having a new interior design.
Traction
CHICanny is currently in the final stage of web development, and scheduled for beta testing and soft-launch on March 2020. It has early followers online, and continues to gain a wider audience. Most recently, CHICanny signed a partnership agreement with uShip for its freight and shipping requirements. It is also in trade partnership with sought-after décor & furniture brands such as Article, Crate&Barrel, Interior Define, Joybird, Minted, Restoration Hardware, Serena&Lily, Surya, Wayfair, and Williams-Sonoma. CHICanny is also currently in the process of establishing partnerships with consignment companies.
Team
Mary Kathleen “Ryka” Rogers, Co-Founder, President & CEO – Equipped with entrepreneurial skills, Ryka has 15 years worth of diverse experience in the field of interior fit-out, architecture, engineering, financial institution and web development. She has managed various design and build architectural projects in the Philippines, and has worked for an international engineering company which had projects such as the Burj Khalifa and Singapore National Stadium. She graduated from AMA University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
Eric Rogers Co-Founder, Vice-President – Eric is a licensed limited energy electrician (data & communications). Before his technical career, he worked for a number of years across the consignment and retail industries.
Funding
CHICanny is seeking capital which will support the business’ initial years of growth. The funding raised will specifically be used for product development in the shape of a mobile app, the execution of a marketing plan, as well as supporting various operational requirements.
Revenue Model
CHICannny will operate a B2B Model with suppliers/sellers initially, before transitioning to a subscription-based model when their target number of users is reached.
